Praise Report

 Norma C. Johnstone-Barrett

I am counting my blessings and I can’t keep this to myself! When I think of what the Lord has done for me, I have to give Him praise by sharing my testimony.

It all started in Feb. 2010. I woke up one morning with a nauseous feeling. Progressively, over the weeks that followed, I was experiencing severe pain on my right side and completely lost my appetite. Needless to say, in the process, I also lost a lot of weight. After several tests, my diagnosis was stage IV Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system). On April 23rd, 2010, I was scheduled for surgery.

During this process, several of my affected lymphnodes were removed. I was then told that I had a 50/50 chance of surviving. Actually, after my surgery, my oncologist wrote on my file ”If she tarries, we will see her in two weeks for follow up”. That was not good news!, but through the fervent prayer of my church family and friends, I made it through.

Following surgery, there were chemotherapy treatments every two weeks. In August of 2010, my oncologist told me I did not need any more chemo because everything is ok. It is now nine years since my ordeal and I am living cancer-free! Praise God I am healed !!! My healing is a direct answer to prayer.

"If God can heal me from stage 4 lymphatic cancer, He can heal you too. With God all things are possible. My healing was incredible, but the greatest miracle I received was the gift of salvation."

You might ask how can I receive the gift of salvation? It’s simple, Romans chapter 9: 9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believe unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.”That is surrendering your life to God and accepting Jesus Christ, the Son of God as your personal saviour. It is only when we have a personal relationship with God, that we can expect His Mighty Hand to move on our behalf.

The following are some intimate verses of assurance from the Bible:

  • James 4:8 Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you

  • Isaiah 53:5 He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes, we are healed.

  • Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given to you, seek, and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asks receives, he that seeks finds, and to him, that knock it shall be open.

  • In the book of Exodus chapter 15: 26 the Lord said: “ I am the Lord that healeth thee.”

My friends, I am encouraging you to trust the Lord for your healing.
